An awkward situation, asking for money!

11th July 09

money1The wedding is booked, the dress is bought and the guests are invited. Everything is ready……but what about the gift list! most couples these days have already set up home together before marriage and have a particular style/taste when it comes to decoration and home accessories. You would like to ask for money instead of gifts from your guests but, how do you ask without feeling cheeky.

Here are a couple of ideas which previous customers have found useful by adding these little messages into their wedding invitations.

More than just kisses so far we’ve shared,

Our home has been made with Love and Care,

Most things we need we’ve already got,

And in our home we can’t fit a lot!

If a gift you’d like to bring,

John Lewis vouchers would be the thing,

Once we’ve replaced the old with the new,

We can look back and say it was thanks to you!

Please don’t be offended at this type of request.

As our day will be complete having you as our guest.

We made a commitment,

some time ago,

that together through life,

We were destined to go.

to save you looking,

shopping and buying,

here is an idea,

we hope you’ll like trying!

come to Our Wedding,

to wish us both well,

and please make a donation,

to Our wishing well.
